Davanti says it is delighted with its fifth place in a major group test by automotive website Autonavigator.hu which puts its DX390 car tyre ahead of those from many better established brands.

In the test which, unusually, also featured some winter tyres for comparison, the DX390 still managed to outrank a number of prestigious rival summer tyres and matched serious rivals from household names for wear rate and wet grip.

Its handling and low noise capabilities saw the DX390 – one of the first tyres Davanti brought to market in 2015 and suitable for mid-size family hatchbacks- finish fifth overall, with its combined score leaving it just 3% outside the podium places in a test conducted using a Skoda Octavia.

Despite its rapid expansion, Davanti is still a very young company, being set up just four years ago. Peter Cross, Davanti general manager, said: “This is a fantastic result. We obviously strive for perfection in our research, development and manufacturing programme but we are realistic.

“We are still a comparatively new manufacturer and, both in this test and in the marketplace, we are up against brands with a longer history in manufacturing and development than we have.

“So we are proud to achieve fifth in the Autonavigator test. This is not just a benchmark to build on. It demonstrates, independently, that the DX390 is an excellent tyre that performs well, is reliable and its performance, objectively measured by computers and subjectively by drivers, matches or exceeds established rivals.”
