Falken’s Eurowinter HS01 seasonal tyre has been rated as one of the best value performance tyres by motoring journalists. This comes after several group tests took place in Arctic conditions.

Auto Motor Sport, a German specialist magazine, took eleven winter tyres in the size 215/55R17 and fitted them to a Volkswagen T-Roc mid-size SUV. The magazine then drove them in northern Finland and northern Germany to see how they performed in harsh conditions.

The Falken was reported as having “excellent lateral guidance, low slip sensitivity when accelerating and good braking on the snow as well as very good aquaplaning prevention”.

It was given 7.4 points in the overall results (1.5 points behind the test winner). This put it towards the top of the mid-ranked performers, but above every other tyre on the price-performance ratio.

The Eurowinter HS01 is available in 111 sizes, covering 13 to 21 inches.
