About My Tyres

The best way to find out which tyre size you need is to look at your current tyres. You will find the tyre size imprinted on the sidewall of the tyre (e.g. 205 50 R16 98V run flat). You are looking for the width of the tyre (i.e. 205), the sidewall (i.e. 50) and the rim size (i.e. 16). You will also need the load and speed rating (i.e. 98V) and finally check if it is a run flat or specialist fitment for your type of car (i.e. MO for Mercedes).
A vehicle that has the ability to have all 4 wheels receiving power from the engine.
RNF stands for reinforced. Reinforced tyres tend to be fitted on small vans, people carriers and some SUV or 4X4 vehicles and some estate cars.
Tyre disposal is included in the quoted price. TyresOnTheDrive gives a fully inclusive price every time. Unlike some other tyre fitting companies, we don’t have any hidden charges. We dispose of tyres responsibly.
A tyre should be replaced when 3mm or less of the tread is remaining; the legal limit for a car tyre in the UK is 1.6mm across three-quarters of the tread. Other warning signs that your tyres may need replacing are: When your tyres are worn to the legal limit (1.6mm for a car in the UK). If your tyre shows signs of ageing (i.e. cracks on the tread or sidewall). If your tyre is damaged (i.e. a bulge on the sidewall). If you can see abnormal wear (i.e. the centre of the tyre is wearing much quicker than the shoulders). If the tyres are not suited to your vehicle (i.e. you are having handling problems). If you get a puncture, though on occasion a tyre can be repaired.
We dispose of your old tyres using carefully selected professional tyre disposal companies. The old tyres are used in a number of different ways: they could be sent to remould manufacturers; used in road construction or for soft playground coverings; used as fuel at a power station; or even utilised for sea defence schemes. TyresOnTheDrive believes that the protection of the environment is a real concern, and we ensure that we dispose of your scrap tyres in the most ecologically and environmentally friendly way possible.

About My Fitting

No, TyresOnTheDrive is not a breakdown or rescue service, so we are unable to change tyres at the roadside on main roads. However, we will always try to assist if we can.
We are open Monday - Saturday 8am - 8pm and Sunday 8am - 5:30pm.
We fit 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm.
All of the TyresOnTheDrive vans are equipped with state-of-the-art tyre changing machines that incorporate a pneumatic arm and bead raiser, tyre balancing machines and a compressor to inflate tyres. All of the equipment is similar to the equipment you would expect to see in a traditional high street depot, with the exception that we bring the tyre depot to you.
Yes, we can fit as low as 25 profile tyres. The benefits of low profile tyres are improved performance and appearance. Lower deck heights give the tyres a racing car look, and also make them better at handling corners. Fewer grooves and smaller void areas between the treads are what make low profile tyres as effective as performance tyres. Combined, these features deliver greater lateral stability, improved tread wear and reduced weight.
There are many instances where we have achieved substantial savings when compared to other tyre retailers. We regularly check our prices against competitors to ensure that we are offering the best prices. We promise to beat any like-for-like quote, that's our Price Promise to you.

Every one of our mobile fitting vans is equipped with a state-of-the-art balancing machine capable of balancing wheels from 10 inches all the way up to 30 inches in diameter!
In line with the latest legislation, we use weights made of zinc. For steel wheels we will use uncoated weights, for alloy wheels we use coated stick-on weights. The wheels on many cars, including high performance vehicles, require stick-on weights that are not visible from the outside. At TyresOnTheDrive we use stick-on weights, therefore ensuring that your wheels always look their best.

Tyre alignment requires a completely flat surface to enable accurate alignment, and as we come to you, we are unable to guarantee suitability of the location.
We can give each job our complete attention because, unlike at a garage, we don’t have other jobs waiting. We dedicate the time to you and your tyres. We also employ highly trained technicians and use time and motion methods in our processes to ensure we do the job right, on time.
No, we don’t sell part worn tyres. We sell new tyres from as little as £32.99. A recent TyreSafe investigation found that 98% of part worn tyres were illegal; 16% contained dangerous or unsafe repairs; and 18% contained other potentially lethal forms of damage or non-compliance. If they were called ‘part-safe’, would you still buy them?
