Pirelli gives drivers the chance to customise their cars

Pirelli is using technology from its Grand Prix tyres to give drivers the chance to customise their cars from hundreds of different colours.
The Color Edition range are finished using an innovative technology at the Pirelli plant in Bollate, just outside Milan. The sidewalls have a ring with the chosen colour and make the car stand out. The process has no effect on the tyres’ performance. In Formula One Pirelli colour codes the different compounds available to the teams making it easier for spectators to see which drivers are on the various options. A spokesman said: “Thanks to our experience in F1 competitions – where the colouring of the tyres identifies the compounds – today Pirelli applies colour to road tyres as well to emphasise their sporty character and uniqueness.”
