Michelin adds new SUV sport tyre

Michelin has added a new sport tyre for the SUV market specifically designed and engineered to cope with their unique demands.
Being heavier and higher than a conventional car such as a hatchback, saloon or coupe this type of vehicle puts different demands on the chassis, suspension and tyres and the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV caters for them.
Replacing the Latitude Sport 3 and suitable for all compact, medium, premium and sports SUV and 4×4 vehicles, the Pilot Sport 4 SUV was developed in partnership with leading car manufacturers.
It is a more comfortable tyre to drive on, has outstanding grip on wet or dry roads and Michelin says it has a longer lifespan than many rival tyres.
Key features include its asymmetrical tread design which has the outer area optimised for dry conditions and the inner section for wet roads. The combination is made of innovative functional elastomers that also improve load distribution. The grooves in the tread stiffen the design and improve lateral traction and for even more precision, the tread uses ‘Dynamic Response’ technology, a hybrid aramid/nylon reinforcement.
