Mercedes-AMG has signed a deal with Yokohama to fit the ADVAN Sport V105 for its high performance E 53 4MATIC range, which can sprint from 0 to 60 in just 4.5 seconds thanks to the grip of the tyres being able to cope with the 435 PS power output.
Yokohama is supplying the tyres in two size sets; the 19 inch set includes 245/40 ZR19 (98Y) front and 275/35 ZR19 (100Y) rear and the 20 inch set includes 245/35 ZR20 (95Y) front and 275/30 ZR20 (97Y) rears.
Earlier, BMW announced that it too was opting for the ADVAN Sport 105 for the M Performance versions of its X5 SUV but with 275/40 R21 107Y at the front and 315/35 R21 111Y for the rear tyres.
Yokohama worked with both manufacturers to jointly develop the tyres and harmonise them and the car.
