Maxxis gets vote of confidence in high performance tyre test

The Maxxis Premitra HP5 was voted third best in a back-to-back test of high performance tyres, behind only the Continental PremiumContact 6 and the Michelin Primacy 4 in wet and dry conditions, but ahead of equivalent tyres from Pirelli, Bridgestone and Yokohama.
Maxxis says the test by leading German motoring magazine, Auto Zeitung, proves that top performing tyres need not carry top prices as its tyre generally costs less than many rivals.
Launched in August 2016, the Premitra HP5 has a full silica compound for good wet weather grip, its rolling resistance is improved through a multiple variable pitch tread pattern and groove design and its central ribs are designed for good high speed stability. Enhanced water dispersal and aquaplaning resistance is also a key feature of the tyre.
A Maxxis spokesman said: “These latest test results come from a highly respected German publication and are the latest in a long line of accreditations for our flagship summer tyre, the Premitra HP5. It’s clear that with results such as this, drivers no longer need to be put in a position where they have to compromise on safety and performance due to cost worries; instead, they can have the best of both worlds with Maxxis tyres.”
The Premitra HP5 comes in 65 options from 15 to 18 inch diameter, 185 to 255 in width 65 to 35 aspect ratio.
