Kumho has designed a new eco-tyre built with fuel efficiency in mind and which fits the majority of small to medium sized family cars and hatchbacks including those from premium German brands.

The Kumho Ecowing ES31 is available in 38 sizes, and Kumho Tyre UK says around three quarters of them have an EU tyre label rating of ‘B’ for fuel efficiency. A key feature is its very rigid centre rib which reduces rolling resistance. Four wide drainage channels help it cope with wet weather and the shoulder areas at the side are optimised for improved wind resistance with little heat dissipation dimples on the inner flank. Kumho says it is making sizes ranging from 155/65R14 to 225/55R17. The Ecowing ES31 can be fitted to the best selling cars such as the Ford Fiesta and Focus, VW Polo and Golf, BMW’s 1, 2, 3, and 5 Series, the Audi A1, A2, A3, A4 and A6 models and the Mercedes-Benz A, B and C Class.
