Hankook Tyre UK is continuing its crucial support for the Air Ambulance scheme with tyre donations and multiple fundraisers and has named the life-saving service its charity of choice for 2019.

The Air Ambulance is a charity funded solely by public donations. During daylight hours two helicopters are flown across five counties, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

When night sets in and the chopper cannot fly, the Rapid Response Critical Care Cars take over. Hankook began donating tyres last year but has since extended its support with various fund-raising projects.

A company spokesman said: “Hankook are looking forward to further supporting the Air Ambulance in 2019. Alongside donating any tyres required by the Air Ambulance, Hankook strive to raise more monetary donations in 2019 than ever before. Without crucial public donations, the charity would not be able to sustain its invaluable services.”

Air Ambulance National Partnerships Manager, Jo Payne, said: “We are so delighted to have received the very generous donations from Hankook for our Rapid Response cars, which are a very important part of our response to the community we serve. Having the tyres to hand proved very well timely with a recent puncture. We were able to fit a new tyre and were back on the road in under 30 minutes. Gifts in Kind are a great way to help our charity, save the charity vital funds with each mission coasting on average £1, 700.00 and we look forward to working Hankook again in the future.”
