Hankook is extending its relationship with Ford by supplying OEM tyres for the new Focus Active with its Ventus Prime 3 in 215/50R18V and 215/55R17V sizes.

This ultra-high-performance tyre has wide, four channel grooves for rapid drainage and they are an optimised design for each position, minimising the trade-off between wet and dry performance. A high-grip silica compound improves braking on a wet road. Klaus Krause, Head of the European Research and Development Centre at Hankook, said: “During development of the new Ventus Prime 3, special attention was paid to a high traction and braking performance, particularly on wet road surfaces. By using an adapted asymmetrical tread, the actual contact surface between the tyre and the road has been increased by ten percent. This means the Ford Focus Active will hit the road especially safely and precisely thanks to Ventus Prime 3.” Hankook has been an OEM supplier to Ford since 1999 and its tyres are now fitted to models ranging from the Fiesta to the Mustang.
