About MG
Owned by the biggest car maker in China, SAIC, the MG brand is enjoying something of a renaissance. Although only a small volume manufacturer, its three models have generally been well received.
The MG line up currently consists of two SUVs and a small hatchback but it has revealed exciting models due over the next couple of years.

MG ZS
This is MG’s entry level and cheapest SUV and comes at a price which undercuts those of rivals. It offers plenty of space and comes backed with a seven year/80,000 mile warranty. There is a choice of a 1.0 or 1.5 litre engine, petrol only, as MG does not make a diesel. Critics have said the car lacks safety features found in others.
MG GS
A bigger SUV with similar dimensions to those of something like a Honda HR-V or Nissan Qashqai, this car has much the same formula as the ZS with prices pitched to look keen against rivals and a promise of solid reliability with its 80,000 mile warranty, but this time only over five years. It only has the 1.5 litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox on all but the most expensive version.
MG3
MG’s five door supermini was the mainstay of the relaunched brand until the SUVs arrived and found favour on account of its decent handling which invoked memories of what MG was best known for in previous times. It is cheap when set against the opposition but the quality and relative lack of features reflect this.
